HiFi & Records Germany Report :
Review-Albedo-Axcentia-German-Review-Translation.pdf
Following on from the HL1.2 and HL2.2, in 2010 a new model appeared - in the form of the range topping HL3.4 ... bearing similar resemblance to the above MkII's.
Featuring at Munich High End Show 2011, it offered a linear-phase floorstanding 3-way design, with (larger) 2 x 6.5" ceramic woofers, a 5" ceramic midrange and 1.2" ceramic tweeter. An acoustic 1st-order crossover, 89dB sensitivity and 35Hz to 20,000Hz bandwidth. Weighing in at 66 Kg each and
62 x 25 x 115cm dimensions.
Seoul 2013 International Audio Show
Renamed Axcentia, it now features further enhancements in Mark II form and was demonstrated at Munich High End 2015.
The dimensions have not changed but weight has increased to a substantial 85Kg each, with slightly lower sensitivity at 87dB.
Construction is similar and designed to manage detailed bass textures ... which Transmission designs are well known for. To limit the height of the cabinet, the woofers wave guide is folded and uses the metal chambered base as additional cubic volume for the acoustic resonator filter. The elliptical shaped cabinet is a special high-density well-damped sandwich to be vibrationally neutral. The lateral enclosure panels are mould-pressed and strengthened with additional side panels - to help aid vibration/rigidity and damping control even further.
Frequency response is 35 - 20,000Hz

Sound :
With their larger cabinet volume and increased driver configuration, Axcentia offers more of Albedo's House Sound.
Best described in the following way by HiFi-Time Italy ;
"Timbre neutrality obtained by ceramic transducers which, thanks to their low mass and high rigidity, provide low speed and articulation, excellent transparency coupled with a remarkable harmonic wealth of the low-mid ranges via the Transmission Line system.
Another strong feature of these loudspeakers is the good propensity to disappear into the listening room, to give space to a precise reconstruction of the acoustic scene. The power handling providing great dynamic feel, despite lower sensitivity.
The Albedo sound, thus shows their designer's hand and intentions with absolute clarity. These speakers, if appropriately provided quality information, can provide really exciting results. All models are capable of room filling sound and have received international acclaim at various Audio Shows".
Examples :
Stereodesk
These speakers are at the very top echelon and were a joy to experience. The finest transmission lines I've heard and a favorite of Srajan Ebaen at 6Moons.
Stereotimes
These are simply good looking and wonderful sounding speakers. This was one of the most interesting rooms of this year’s Munich show.
Parttime Audiophile
Munich - compared to Aptica, the results are even more pronounced, fast and detailed is how I would describe it. The looks are definitely Italian though, with the wood and metal cabinet finished in an exquisite manner.
